Chapter 8: The Final Hurt to Gu Shisheng
Lu Siyi took two days off from work to accompany Gu Shisheng. If it weren’t for Gu Shisheng insisting that Lu Siyi go back to work on the third day, Lu Siyi would have brought his work to the hospital.
“I need to take care of myself even when you’re not around. Qin Auntie will bring lunch at noon. Remember to video call me when you’re eating. I want to see you eat well.”
“Alright, you can relax. I’m not a child.”
Lu Siyi chuckled, reaching out to tap Gu Shisheng’s forehead. “When you’re with me, you’re always my baby.”
“Don’t…” Gu Shisheng’s cheeks reddened slightly. His pale, porcelain-like complexion had a hint of blush, delicate like a canary in a cage, fragile and in need of tender care.

“You should go now, or you’ll be late.”
After seeing off Lu Siyi, Fu Cheng, who had been a light bulb for a long time, finally had a chance to speak.

Gu Shisheng grinned, pure in his laughter. “Wait until I find the answer to the problem, then say goodbye to him. Don’t worry; I’m fine. Back when I chose to live, I told myself to treat myself well.”
He had accepted this situation a long time ago. From the first discovery, through countless later discoveries, entangled in whether Lu Siyi had changed or not, he began to let go.
Lu Siyi had indeed done what others dared not do to Gu Shisheng, but in the end, Lu Siyi became the one who hurt Gu Shisheng the most.
Loving and falling for Lu Siyi took too much effort. He didn’t even want to look, didn’t want to care.
Gu Shisheng, beyond the age of self-pity, gained maturity. After being discharged the next day, he went back to work at the gallery.
